1. Actuality of the theme. Why this theme is taken for the study

At the lesson of English teacher told us about London and its sights. The story was accompanied by a film. The capital of the UK impressed me with its history, the huge number of museums, royal palaces and parks. I have a desire to continue to explore this magnificent city, I really want to visit this wonder city. To visit London, we need money.
How can I realize his dream in life?
 Buy trip ticket to England.
  • Unfortunately, my family can not afford this luxury.
Participate in any contest, the grand prize which will be a trip to London.
  • It is necessary to learn long and hard the language for a few more years before I can take part in this competition.
To make a trip without leaving home.
  • To find information. You can use the internet, picture books about London, to find an interesting movie about the sights of this city.
Collected and studied information from various sources, I found lot of material on this subject and decided to make a trip to the sights of London.
My work gives me the opportunity to learn more about London and the most interesting places of the city to create my first impression of it.

 2. Determine the subject of research. (What should be studying?)

Aim of my work: to learn more about London - the capital of the UK, and "travel" by the city without leaving home.
To make this trip, I decided:
  • Create a book about the sights of London.
    The most interesting and little-studied information about London is Bridges. 33 Bridges occupied a special place in my heart! Each of these unique structures has its own history, its unique image
  • Make  a board game: "Journey to London".
    Together with friends we can play and travel. The game helps in teaching English, to learn more about sights of London, gives an idea about their location on a map of London.
  • Create an e-book in the program Power Point «Welcome to London» - where we can learn more about different sights of the city.
 3) Formulation of the problem. What is the problem? What are some questions to be answered?

For realization of these tasks, I need:
  • Collect and study information on the topic: "Sights of London",
  • To translate from English into Russian;
  • Learn to use the Internet. Search for images with the image of sights of London.
  • Learn how to save the information found on the Internet on removable media
  • Learn how to work in the programs Word, Power Point
4) The nomination of the  hypotheses. (What could be the hypothetical answer?)

Suppose that you can travel without leaving home using the Internet, illustrated books about London, video clips of the sights of this city. Collected and studied information from different sources, I can create a project: "Sights of London
For realization of  objectives I need to take several steps:
Start learning English seriously;
To ttranslate from English into Russian;
Learn how to work in the programs Word, Power Point.
Learn to use the Internet. Search for images with the image of sights of London.
Make  the project in English, which will include: book about sights of London, a board game, electronic book.
I suggested that the board game will have the following structure:
A board game "Journey to London for children 10 - 13 years old.
The game consists of a playing field, 20-cards (with English and Russian versions), 4-chips and playing dice. The number of players from 2 to 4 people.
Players choose their place of start, and take turns throwing the dice, move in any free chosen direction, moving the chips to a number of clubs that fell on the dice.
The purpose of the players - to gather the maximum number of cards with a description of London attractions. The winner is the one who has more cards.
The player who wins the card, receives the right to promote their chip on the 3-way forward, if he reads aloud a description of points of interest in Russian language, and by 6 –way forward if in English.
Warning for players: Be careful! There are traps, marked with black circles. If you come to this point, you need to put any card with the sights on the table and continue playing. If by that time you will not be carrying a card, then you miss your turn twice.
The game ends when players will disassemble all the cards.
E-book: «Welcome to London!»  It is also traveling to London, but reviewed in more detail different famous sights and more. The e- book will be constructed so that it can be taken by English teachers at their lessons.
Structure of the e-book:
The e-book e will consist of 67 slides, which contain information about the different sights of London;
The title page is a map of London, which marked the well-known sights;
With the help of hyperlinks, we can visit any place in London, marked on the map;
Every sight has a few slides on which the following information: the text on the topic, pictures all that can be printed
The e-book also will include a video of London, which can be viewed at the beginning of benefits.
The book will contain information about sights of London. Here you can learn about castles and palaces of London, many museums and beautiful parks. The most interesting and little-studied information is about London Bridges. 33 Bridges occupied a special place in my heart! Each of these unique structures has its own history, its unique appearance. I'm sure after seeing these bridges; you'll love them as well like me!

 5) Test hypotheses.

My project I made for the structure, which I planned.
Board game created for the structure, which I invented myself. I played with my classmates in the game: "Journey to London". I liked the play because the game Cognitive, interesting and exciting. Particularly it is interesting, exciting to gather cards. Cards drawn attention because the information about the sights given in two languages: English and Russian. It is interesting to study the English language, the culture of the country. The game helps in teaching English, to learn more about sights of London, gives an idea about their location on a map of London.
E-book has the same structure as it was intended. Can be used both independently and as an application to the book: "Sights of London
At the 5th grade English teacher, Natalia Kuznetsova, telling the children about London, she used my e-book. She recommends using it at English lessons.
During the work I had the unique opportunity to see London from space; I made a virtual tour, using a computer program «GOOGLE-Earth ". An unforgettable experience! I realized that I want to see this wonderful, beautiful, attractive with its history, the richest collections of museums, royal palaces and parks of the city.
When working on my project I have some difficulties. For the first time I work in the programs Word, Power Point, Publisher. I needed some time to learn h these editors. I have  difficulties translating from English into Russian, as information was not adopted to my level  of language proficiency.

6) Interpretation (explanation) of the results. Possible conclusions.

The purpose and objectives set by me - are satisfied. This year I am actively involved in all competitions, Olympiads in English, quite successfully. Participated in the regional extramural contest in the English language (from 46 points gained 45.5), took part in the "English Bulldog" gained 120 points, became a member of the District Competition in the English language. After working on the project has become easier with the English language.
I learned to work on a computer with  the programs Word, Power Point, Publisher.
I came to the conclusion that we should not discouraged that there is no such opportunity to see the world in reality. Tomorrow it will be different. But I can travel around the world, using books, movies and even create interesting games for your trip.
During the work I wanted so much to tell a lot, but it's impossible. I am pleased that - a thing of the future, and then I will continue this work. I'll tell you about the history of castles with ghosts, for example, the castle with ghosts of Henry VIII, London Underground with a "ghost stations", a red two-story bus, the Royal Family, British traditions and customs ...
Having made such a unique journey to London, I realized that I want to see this amazing, beautiful, unique city.

7) Preparation for the presentation of research of material. Writing the report.

Report-writing possibilities were used text editor, Word, Publisher. The final material is presented in the form of presentations, made in the editor, POWER POINT.
Entering the work we used the following literature:
1. MZ Biboletova "Enjoy English" textbook English grades 5-6
2. Journal Speak out, a special edition of "What are the British Like"
3. Journal Speak out, a special edition of "Let's Go to London"
